Our next stitch club will be held on Saturday 20th July 2024 at the Thomas Garrett Building, Heighington, Lincoln, where Jacqui will be teaching us Hardanger to create a mini sampler as illustrated below.
Traditionally, Hardanger is done white-on-white, but if you like you may use coloured or variegated thread instead.
Requirements List
- 22 count evenweave fabric 12" square, or a 25 count evenweave such as Zweigart Lugana 9" square
- If using 22 count, then 1 skein of DMC Coton Perle No 5 and one ball of DMC Coton Perle No 8 in a matching colour of your choice.
- If using 25 count, then 1 ball of DMC Coton Perle No 8 and one ball of DMC Coton Perle No 12 in a matching colour of your choice.
- Tapestry needles 22 for Perle 5, 24 for Perle 8 and 26 for Perle 12.
- Embroidery scissors
OR if you've never done Hardanger before, there is a smaller more simple sampler you can try which will need a 5" square of 22 count hardanger. This will require DMC Coton Perle 5 and 8.
