Robyn rubbing her scarf edge after rolling in bubble wrap
Suzie showing her scarf after fulling (throwing it about)
three finished scarves
Monika making a felted flower as an additional extra
Nuno felt is good for tailored garments because wool shrinks in the direction in which it is laid, so jackets can be wide across the shoulders and small at the waist; Vivienne put on the most beautiful shaped jacket in grey merging into black edging.
Coarse wool takes longer to felt but has more character as has this beautiful wall-hanging
Vivienne is keen on needle felting birds.
Vivienne showed us a piece of nuno felt she was currently working on, inspired by Rene MacIntosh’s roses.

Any one who's planning visits and trips for the summer may be interested to know about this exhibition at Waddesdon Manor that started on 27th March and goes through until 27th October 2013. There is more information on the website here: Sacred Stitches Exhibition but it will contain textiles dating from c1400 to the late1700s. The manor is just outside Aylesbury just off the A41.
