Jan 25th Workshop with Karen Lane (Bailgate Embroiderers' Guild, held at Mansions of the Future, opposite Lincoln Railway Station

The workshop will take place on the last Friday in January 6.45 to 9.00.

Karen Lane will provide kits for the workshop (£4.50 each) and comprise of the following.....
A4 tracing paper x2
A4 55gsm Tyvek x2
A4 30gsm Lutradur x2
A4 interfacing x1
She will provide two designs for fossils which can be traced and applied to the Tyvek so, although it’s unlikely you will have time to make two pieces on the night, you can have the option of which you use once the Tyvek has been distressed (unpredictable results, so two gives a choice).

Participants will need to bring.....
Inktense, acrylic or watercolour paints with a brush or sponge for applying
Basic sewing kit with pins and embroidery threads
Craft knife and cutting mat (or small sharpe scissors)
Pencil for tracing designs
Cotton fabric for their backing in whatever colour they intend to work with.

Many thanks,
Christine PlummerMembers would have to pay £35 to attend. With the topic Geology and Fossils Christine would help students to explore and develop techniques to achieve work of exhibition quality.  She will encourage students to experiment with different mediums and help students to develop their own techniques. We hope to have at least eight members involved in this project. Students would be encouraged to do their own individual projects – but after the one day workshop Christine would still offer advice and help to enable them to complete the project with the aim to put work into an exhibition.
