Wendy led us in a mini workshop to make a brooch or pendant using a copper wire framework with needleweaving.

We are very pleased to be having a practical evening with Wendy Coyne on 27th April

Wendy will be showing us how to make a brooch or pendant from wire and thread.

As well as your sewing kit, you will also need 12" copper wire and space dyed thread (either perle or stranded)

Shirley Rowley Stitch Club April 12

Shirley Rowley will again be leading a stitch club on Saturday 21April 2012. Shirley will show us how to make a beautiful and individual piece of textile art from our prosaic tape measures.

Katie Chaplin's Folded patchwork

Some of the hexagons that were created using the Japanese folded patchwork technique.

Japanese homes are generally small so this technique was popular as backing and wadding are added during the making of each hexagon.

Katie Chaplin - Ceremonial Kimono

Friday 30th March saw Katie Chaplin give us a very interesting talk and demonstration of how a kimono is worn. The layers seemed to going on and on and on! No wonder they are very upright and sedate in them. It was really very interesting. Above are some photos of the back and front of the finished article.
