Magie Relph
Magie Relph of African Fabric will be coming to Bailgate on Friday 28th October (7-9pm) and there are still a few places on her workshop on Sat 29th.
Here is something to whet your appetite
:
Kente Cloth – the Patchwork Way.
A workshop with Magie Relph
West African Kente cloth is traditionally woven by the Ashanti and Ewe tribes. I have always been fascinated and inspired by this cloth and decided to create my own patchwork version.
Kente cloth is now rare and the craft has almost died - though a few craftsmen maintain the tradition.
