For Friday's practical evening, members and guests revived the traditional craft of French Knitting, with a gift of hand turned wooden bobbins. Some of us remember our dads tapping four panel pins into a wooden cotton reel and with any yarn we could filch from Mum's oddments bag , off we went to make yards of french knitting. Fun but often useless! But now - what a showcase for fancy yarns and ribbon tape: jewellery, i-cords, braid and chunky handles for a felted bag - just a taste of what members produced.
