PAT testing

 Hello Everyone

We are about to arrange PAT testing on electrical items that are used in the Heritage Rooms.

Any electrical items whether they belong to your group or your own need to be PAT tested if they are to be used in the Heritage Rooms.

We are going to arrange for that to be done at the Heritage Rooms but we need to know how many before we can book someone. Therefore could you please let me know by Monday 18th October if and how many items you need testing at janetwain6@gmail.com

You can have the testing done yourself if you prefer, you will just need to have a current testing label on those items.

There will be a cost for each item, usually in the region of £1 - £2.

Many thanks

Janet

Bron Williams - Boro And Beyond Workshop Saturday 16th October 2021

Sign up with Kate

You may well be familiar with Boro – and if you’re not, it’s as easy as using running stitch!

The supplies you need are straightforward, and hopefully you’ll have everything in your stash.

  •  A base material
  •   Fabric pieces to be patched onto the base material, either toning or contrasting, as you prefer
  •  Thread: sashiko thread is good, but perle/embroidery floss will be fine
  •  Fabric scissors
  • Usual sewing kit
  •  Lunch and mug for hot drinks

The project I am working on is a cover for a notebook: I therefore measured out how much fabric I would need to cover with patches/embroidery plus turnings. If you wanted to create a pouch (as above) or book cove, your base material will need to be an appropriate size.

Julie and marbling with the Stitch Club 18th Sept

We had an enjoyable day marbling - first the easy way with a shaving foam platform and dribbled thinned acrylic paint, stirred with a barbeque stick. This was great with fabric. The marbling kit method was brilliant with paper and card, but not so effective on fabric. Julie was marvellous in showing us each what to do.
