For our June stitch club, Kate will be taking us through creating an embossed metal panel to be included in an embroidered panel of your own working.
Requirements List
- Thin sheet of metal - Kate has collected a good quantity of these, so you don't need to bring any unless you want to.
 - Tomato paste tube or other tubes made of thin metal, cleaned and cut open (as remembered by Kathy)
 - Aluminium ready meal containers (as suggested by Julie).  Please note, cooking foil on a roll is too thin to work with unless you are very confident.

Kate will be bringing:
- Thin foam sheets so you can emboss on them to get a bit of depth
 - A selection of tools for embossing the metal.  These need to be ball-point or blunt so as not to rip or puncture the metal.

Think about the pattern you want to emboss; this can be a simple as diagonal lines or a more complex image such as a flower.
You will also need:
- Scissors to cut the metal to size
 - Fabric for your backing cloth (a top fabric and thin calico underneath to give it some substance)
 - Robust needle to make holes in the metal to attach it to the fabric
 - Embroidery threads
 - Beads, thin ribbon, additional little bits of fabric or felt
 - Ideas about the stitches you might want to use
 - Sewing kit with fabric scissors
