About Lincoln Bailgate Branch 2017 to 2018

We are a friendly group of people who are interested in many aspects of textile art, who meet on the last Friday of every month apart from August and December between 7:00 - 9:00 pm
The evening usually starts with coffee/tea and biscuits, then any business (such as plans for the branch, news of exhibitions or other relevant activities); then we either have a speaker, or a practical evening, or a mixture of both.

In addition to our Friday evenings, we also hold Saturday Workshops, run by invited speakers/tutors who run these practical classes and in the past have covered many different aspects of textile art. The workshop fee is £25. Non-members are welcome if there are space places. The fee for non-members is £30, which is great value, as you can pay in excess of £100 to attend a workshop.

Stitch clubs
We also hold Saturday Stitchclubs. These are run by the members for the members for a nominal fee of £5. Our members are a gifted lot and we've run a huge variety, for example: in the past we have had an introduction to braiding, spiral beading, hand patchwork, felting, Christmas Decorations, collage and Jacobean stitching.

Exhibitions and Craft Fayres
We try and arrange an exhibition in the library once every other year with a craft fayre when there is no exhibition. Last year (2016-2017) instead of a craft fayre we had a stall at the Lincolnshire Show (21-22 June 2017) together with the Lincolnshire branch of the Embroiderers' Guild. We are planning an exhibition this year.

Full membership for 2016/17 was £50 and Dual Membership £20.
